Beading Friends Forever January Challenge

Well another year over, hope you all had a Merry Christmas and that the New Year brings you all that you need 🙂

I’ve been lax with my blog recently, unfortunately I’ve not been able to do much jewellery making recently due to the fact I’ve having a problem with my neck!

I kept the my January challenge piece, for the Beading Friends Forever  blog, simple but colourful with a rosary chain bracelet, made using 0.6mm antique bronze wire, Impression Jasper and a heart toggle clasp. If you look at my jewellery pieces I tend to go my earthy tones and blues so this year I’ve decided I need to move out of comfort zone with my favourite colours, hence the pink Impression Jasper.

Please check out the Beading Friends Forever challenge blog, we have a challenge each month and a prize donated by Beads Direct Ltd up for grabs 🙂

Twit-twooo – Bag Charms

A few more bag charms, the BFF challenge for November is to blame!!!!

Made using various gemstones, agate, rose quartz, tigers eye, quartz, aventurine, smokey quartz, labradorite, hematite etc

Love these owl charms, I only had six of them sooo wish I bought more of them at the time coz I think the retailer no longer has these in stock – will have to have a hunt 🙂

Beading Friends Forever November challenge

Time for the new monthly challenge over on Beading Friends Forever, two challenges to join in with, you can enter both or just one – entirely up to you, the tutorial challenge is a beautiful bracelet and the theme challenge is to create a bag charm.
Obviously my DT pieces are for the bag charm theme challenge, made using a variety of gemstones – agates, quartz, amethyst, sunstone, and antique bronze owl and leaf charms. The purple bag charm is a gift for my Mum, purple is her fav colour, and my handbag is sporting the autumnal bag charm.
You can find full details of the challenge, and tutorial link, over on the Beading Friends Forever blog, together with details of the prize, donated by Beads Direct, that you can win by joining in with the monthly challenge.

Beading Friends Forever – May Challenge

Well I’m very late with my post about the Beading Friends Forever May Challenge, two challenges to join in with as usual, don’t forget you can enter both or just one but join in whatever you decide. All entries are in with a chance to win £15 to spend at Beads Direct.

The wire wrap pendant above is my piece for the theme challenge ‘Make a Pendant’ and the bracelet was made for the tutorial challenge Embellished Ladder Stitch bracelet. The tutorial link is on the Beading Friends Forever challenge blog or you can click on Ladder Stitch Embellished bracelet, thanks to Aunties Beads for the great tutorial. You may have noticed from my blog posts I’m hooked on wire at the moment and have a love hate relationship with fireline and needles, whilst I am in awe of my fellow jewellerymakers who have mastered bead stitching and love the results, I seem to spend a lot of time cursing my progress with bead stitching but I have to say this bracelet has been my favourite stitched jewellery piece and may even make another one, maybe it’s becoming more love and less hate of needles and fireline!!!
