Gazing at the Moon

Morning, hope you’ve had a good weekend.

Had a productive crafty time and I’ve got lots to share, starting off with this moody night scape.

Gazing at the Moon, stamping, Lavinia Stamps, Inkylicious, Tim Holtz Distress inks

Step by Step

1. Cut a piece of white card stock to fit my card blank.

2. Used Distress inks, three colours used – Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade, with a blending tool to apply the colour.

3. Splattered/flicked water onto the Distress inks and blotted with a paper towel.

4. Used a circle stencil and a baby wipe to remove move colour from the background to create the moon.

5. Using black Versafine ink stamped the scene using various Lavinia Stamps and Inklylicous stamps.

6. Added some sparkle to the fairy wings using Sakura Stardust pens and blended out with a damp paint brush.

6. Emphasized the moon by placing a circle mask over the moon, used Black Soot Distress ink with a sponge around the edge of the mask.

7. Edged the scene with Black Soot Distress ink and a blending tool.

8. Matted onto white card stock and then adhered to the black card blank.

Broken Wings

Sharing a W.I.P. this afternoon, been playing around with Dylusions paints, Visible Image stamps and the Visible Image Monoliths.

I’ve had the monoliths for awhile and had put them safely away, this is always a dangerous approach for me, crafting and tidy doesn’t mix for me!!!

Anyway, this is the start of the monolith, I was hoping to have had more done but not had much time to craft last few days.

I’ve not completed the bottom of the monolith yet because I’ve not decided how I’m decorating the other side yet!!

Broken Wings, Mixed Media, Visiblr Image stamps, Stamping, Stencils

Step by Step

Painted a monolith with black gesso and glued the two pieces together.

Cut a piece of watercolour card stock to fit the monolith.

Applied Dylusions paints, colours used After Midnight, Calypso Teal and Cut Grass, with a blending tool to the watercolour card stock.

Used a Tim Holtz stencil with the Dylusions paints, same colours as above, to add some interest to the background.

Used Indigo Blu Crackleglaze background stamp with grey Archival ink, stamped over the whole background. Used first and second generation stamping to vary the effect on the background.

Used HobbyArt texture stamp to add the flecked/mottled effect around the edge of the background using black Archival ink.

Used an antistatic bag over the background, to eliminate embossing powder where I don’t want it.

Stamped the elements from Visible Images ‘Learn To Fly’ stamp set, using Smokey Gray Versafine ink and heat embossed with detailed clear embossing powder.

Used Black Soot Distress ink around the edge of the background, wiped away Distress ink from the embossed areas. The embossed areas act as a resist with the Distress ink so the ink never dries so if you don’t wipe away excess you’ll end up with mucky fingers when touching??

Adhered to the monolith using red super sticky tape and PVA glue.

Fly A Kite

Morning, sharing an art journal page from my small Dylusions journal.

I had a bit of a surprise whilst making this page, sat trying to add finishing touches to the page, ironically attempting to stamp cobwebs when a huge spider ran over my foot!!! Now I’m not scared stiff, anymore, but still rather not be around them. So when I spotted the spider in the corner of my eye thought I was just being silly because I was about to stamp a cobweb, almost fell off my chair when it ran over my foot, yuck!!! Not only was I freaked out but it messed up my stamping, more of an unattractive black smudge than a stamped cobweb.

Question is can you guess where the offending cobweb is? I had to hide it because it was an ugly mess lol

Step by Step

Started by applying Dylusions paints, used colours Bubblegum Pink, Squeezed Orange, Lemon Zest and Fresh Lime, with a blending tool.

Used various stencils along with Dylusions paints, colours as above, to add interest to the background.

Used a Dylusions background clear stamp set with pink and black archival ink to add depth to the background.

On a piece of white card stock I stamped various elements from Dylusions stamp sets to create my character, using black Memento ink and coloured with Copic markers.

Stamped the raindrops, from an Inkylicious stamp set, on sections of the page using black Archival ink.

Stamped the “flowers” using the circle stamps from Love Struck Lucy Dylusions stamp set and border from a Dylusions clear stamp set

Stamped the sentiment, used a portion of the sentiment from an Inkylicous stamp, with Smokey Gray Versafine ink onto white card stock.

Stamped the kite and tail section, from a Clearly Besotted stamp set, using Smokey Gray Versafine ink onto white card stock. Die cut the kite and tail pieces using the matching die set.

Stamped one of the flowers from Dylusions Doodle Flowers stamp set, using black Memento ink and coloured with Copic markers.

Adhered the stamped elements using DecoArt Matte Medium.

Stamped the foliage at the bottom of the page, from a Card-io stamp set, using black Archival ink.

Used a white Derwent Paint Liner pen to add highlights to the raindrops and some of the stencilled areas. Used the same pen to colour the “flower” stems and added some dots around the outline of the “flowers”.

Used a black Derwent Paint Liner pen to draw the string for the kite tail, outlined the sentiment and the kite plus added a faux stitched border around the edge of the page with the same pen.

Stamped the spider, from a Card-io stamp set, on the kite tail using black Archival ink.
