Wild Flowers

Afternoon, sharing another make from my master board make and Sweet Poppy Stencils.

Step by Step

Created the background using Dylusion paints with a brayer, plastic card and old lid, on white card stock.

Trimmed background to size, used Sweet Poppy Stencils black glossy dimensional paste with the Wild Flowers stencil, also from Sweet Poppy Stencils.

Created a 5×7″ card blank from white textured card stock.

Cut away a small piece of card from the front edge of the card blank.

Used black Archival ink and the Script stamp from Indigo Blu to create the background on the card blank.

Used black card stock and a Tonic punch to create the border piece.

Attached the punched border to the card blank using red super sticky DS tape.

Inked the edge of the stencilled image with Black Soot Distress ink.

Matted the stencilled image onto black card stock.

Adhered to the card blank using 3D foam pads.

Again, I’ve not added a sentiment yet because I’m creating a stash of blank cards ready to add an appropriate sentiment when needed.

Digi Choosday Challenge – Traditional Xmas

Morning, Tuesday already where does the time go??? Time to share my make for the current Digi Choosday Challenge, this week it’s Traditional Xmas. Now I’m sure you’ve all got something festive made so make sure to pop on over to Digi Choosday and share your Traditional Xmas make we’d love to see what you’ve been making, there’s a prize for the winner of the challenge and who doesn’t need more crafty goodies 🙂

So what have I made for this challenge, well I decided to make a Xmas wreath. Xmas wreaths are a traditional part of Xmas and this is made using what is essential paper chains, another staple of Xmas and who hasn’t as a child made a paper chain.

I used various papers from the Work & Play Festive Hollybobs collection, available as a digital download or on CD-Rom.

It’s an easy make, something you can get the children or grandchildren involved with. I used a glue gun but there’s no reason why wet glue cannot be used if children are making the wreath.

I started by cutting a large circle to create the base for the wreath. I used my largest circle die from Tattered Lace, the die is a little under 21cm across.

I then printed out various papers from the Work & Play Festive Hollybobs collection. I choose to print the papers double sided, you could leave the reverse unprinted but printing double sided meant I could alternate sides and cut down on the number of A4 sheets I needed to print out. I printed out 5 A4 sheets, double sided, to create the paper chains/loops of the wreath and the centre of the wreath, plus 1 single sided piece of the red polkadot paper.

I cut the papers into strips, I used 1″ x 5″ strips. I curled the strips before gluing the ends together, it makes the paper behave a little better when gluing the loop. Once all the strips are glued, I began attaching them to the circle base. Beginning on the outer edge of the base and working inwards, overlapping the second & third row of loops over the previous row.

I cut circles to form the centre decoration of the wreath, along with a rosette die, Tattered Lace, and a text die, Tonic Studios. Finally I added the ribbon to the back to create the loop for hanging the wreath and used 3D pearls to add the berries to the text.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to share your Traditional Xmas project, it could be anything a card, plaque, coaster, journal page, anything with a Traditonal Xmas theme.

Paris Tag Card

Morning all, a crafty day ahead for me, hope you’ll be be getting creative too over the weekend!

Sharing a tag card made recently, I’d coloured one of the ladies from the Tonic Studios Exquisite Ladies stamps set so needed to show her off.  Created the background using Creative Expressions Colour Cloud blending inks and added some interest to the background with stamps from Hobby Art and Inkylicious. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and the dies are from Tonic Studios.

Enjoy you’re day whatever your up to and thanks for popping by.

I’d like to enter this into the following blog challenge

Brushos – my first attempts!

Hi everyone, how’s your weekend going?

Had a play with a new medium for me for, Brusho crystal colours. Bought them a few weeks back and not had chance to try them out so I’ve been experimenting with them today.

I’m quite a precise person, so this technique with the Brusho crystals is a change for me!!! Having fun learning how the Brushos work so they may not be perfect but thoroughly enjoyed myself 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by.
