BD-i Tiaramaking – Rondelle cluster hair comb

My latest make, using elements from the BD-i Tiaramaking Design Team pack, these are the multi-colour crystal rondelle strand. I kept the colours and design quite simple, making bead clusters with the rondelles, they really catch the light especially with the added movement the clusters give, along with diamantés from my stash.

BD-i Tiaramaking February Design Challenge

Been busy, busy, with the February Design Challenge from BD-i Tiaramaking. Struggling with the camera work but didn’t struggle to get inspiration for my jewellery designs from the beautiful beads. I made a jewellery set in silver and red, using the bicones, diamanté rondelle spacers and clear/AB rondelles, all from the pack the only additions are the wire & findings. As I said I’m struggling with the camera work and sadly it doesn’t show the wonderful sparkle from the diamanté rondelle spacers and the clear/AB rondelles, they really do catch the light and twinkle.

My next designs are a ring and a handbag charm, using the red seed beads from the pack plus wire and findings from my stash. The ring is adjustable and quite a simple make but I think it’s an eye catching design, just love, love, love red & gold together 🙂

I’ve a couple more makes to upload, hopefully I’ll have more success with my photos!!!!

Make sure you check out the BD-I Tiaramaking blog for full details of the design challenge and I look forward to seeing your designs.

Lucite flower tiara & haircomb

A few recent makes, I usually use lucite flowers in the twisted vines of a tiara or simple wrapped drops in earring or bracelets but decided to use them in the wrapped band of the tiara and the haircomb for change. The earrings are just simple wrapped loops on jump rings, they really catch the light and move beautifully.

Well have you guys missed me, have had a few odd weeks that meant I’ve not had time to post on the blog.

Back to blogging and my first make from the BD-i Tiaramaking design team pack. I’ve started with a tiara, I usually make a headband style when using a double band tiara base but decided to try something else this time. I started the tiara by making the twisted vines using 0.4mm silver wire and the AB Cut Glass Bugle Beads then added these to the centre of the top band of the tiara, I then added the 8mm Clear Glass Crackled beads between the top and bottom band of the tiara base. To finish the tiara, I added the Diamante trim to the top and bottom of the tiara base. You can see that I don’t add beads all the way to the end of the tiara base because I found that when the tiara is positioned on the head it can be uncomfortable taking the wrapping all the way to the end, if the wearer is very sensitive you can also wrap ribbon to help cushion the ends. I had some fun trying to get piccies of the finished tiara, the flare from the beads and diamantes was a struggle but that tells you how much the beads pick up the light.
