BD-i Tiaramaking May Challenge Bundle

Apologies for the late post regarding the BD-i Tiaramaking May challenge bundle, I posted earlier about the bundle but didn’t share my make, BD-i challenge bundle.

It’s a gorgeous bundle from BD-i and astounding value at £5, the pendant alone I’m sure would cost more than £5. I kept the design of the necklace quite simple for this piece because I adore the Butterfly pendant and wanted the focus on the pendant.

Please pop on over to BDI-i Tiaramaking and check out their products, and don’t let the name mislead you it’s not just about tiaras they have so much more, and the outlet section of the website has some amazing diamanté pendants, kilo bundles of findings and a variety of beads at brilliant prices.

BD-i Tiaramaking April Challenge

Well, I’m so behind schedule with just about everything!! Apologies for the late post about the April Jewellery Challenge from BD-i Tiaramaking.

This months challenge is Diamanté & Crystals, sadly the photo of my DT pieces for the challenge don’t do the Diamanté chain any justice at all, the red version I received is beautiful but I just can’t get a good photo at the minute, will try again tomorrow.

The challenge pieces are a triple row bracelet using the red diamanté cupchain, this would be great for not only for the evening but daytime too with jeans & t-shirt, and an opera length necklace made with some beautiful connectors, also from BD-i, and the the red diamanté cupchain.

You can find all the details about the challenge over on the BD-i blog here, including how to buy the great value challenge pack for just £5,how to entry the challenge and details of the prize for the challenge winner.

Micro Macramé Necklaces

I’ve a design in my head that I want to make but it’s going to take me sometime to figure out cord lengths and the best way to knot up the design, so I decided to make smaller pieces to use as a basis on how to figure out parts of the design and the best way of creating the larger design I’ve in mind!!!

This is one of the pieces I’ve made, with my larger design in mind, a small collar style necklace made using 1mm waxed polyester cord and faceted rondelles. The faceted rondelles are from BD-i Tiaramaking and which I received as pack of my February DT pack, they are a strand of multi-colour rondelles which have some beautiful colours in the strand. I was feeling in a monochrome mood when I made this piece so I used some of the clear rondelles.

I was really pleased with the design so I decided to make another!!

This is made with 1mm waxed polyester cord and faceted haematite beads.

BD-i Tiaramaking February Design Challenge

Been busy, busy, with the February Design Challenge from BD-i Tiaramaking. Struggling with the camera work but didn’t struggle to get inspiration for my jewellery designs from the beautiful beads. I made a jewellery set in silver and red, using the bicones, diamanté rondelle spacers and clear/AB rondelles, all from the pack the only additions are the wire & findings. As I said I’m struggling with the camera work and sadly it doesn’t show the wonderful sparkle from the diamanté rondelle spacers and the clear/AB rondelles, they really do catch the light and twinkle.

My next designs are a ring and a handbag charm, using the red seed beads from the pack plus wire and findings from my stash. The ring is adjustable and quite a simple make but I think it’s an eye catching design, just love, love, love red & gold together 🙂

I’ve a couple more makes to upload, hopefully I’ll have more success with my photos!!!!

Make sure you check out the BD-I Tiaramaking blog for full details of the design challenge and I look forward to seeing your designs.

Micro Macramé Necklace with Agate cabochon

My latest make, over the weekend, an agate cabochon macramé wrapped with macramé necklace. My shoulder is still giving me trouble so I have to pace myself or I will end up not being able to do any jewellery making at all, aargh!!!! I’ve visited the doctors and am waiting on shoulder exercises to help it, not physio but written instructions?? Will have to see how I go on I suppose, fingers crossed 🙂

I’ll be adding a blog post later day about my macramé work station, my shoulder trouble would be seriously aggravated if I didn’t have my current set-up.
