Three Little Birds – Clarity Stamps Groovi Plate

Afternoon all, another late post but better late than never! Sharing another make with my latest crafty toy, the Clarity Stamps Groovi system.

 Step By Step

1. I started using the Groovi square and round plates to create the frame, adding a little decoration to the frame using the square plate to add the small squares and then embossing.

2. I used the Three Wrens Groovi plate to create the focal point of the design.

3. Using the Alphabet on the Groovi Plate Mate created the text ‘Mum’

4. Did a little embossing on the leaves.

5. Add a heart to the corners, using a section from one of the corners from the Lace Corners Border plate.

6. Coloured areas of the design using Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils.

7. Matted the finished parchment onto blue cardstock, using the Clarity Groovi Corner punch.

8. Added flat back pearl pearls to embellish.

9. Matted onto card base using 3D foam tape.

Quick confession I did make a bit of mess of the ‘U’ in Mum, I hadn’t tape down the parchment and it slipped. I didn’t line the ‘U’ back up properly after it had moved!  I redid the ‘U’ on a scrap of parchment paper and coloured with pencils. Once I’d cut out the replacement ‘U’, I glued onto the parchment using Pinflair glue gel and left to dry. I wasn’t sure if the glue would show through but fortunately it didn’t 🙂

Rooster, Art Journal Page

Sharing an Art Journal page today, this will be start of an 8×8″ journal using images from colouring books that I’ve completed.

The background was created from gelli plate paper I’d created, oooooh I’m so loving the gelli plate it’s a new toy for me so you’ll be seeing more gelli papers from me!!! I’ve also additional detail and texture to the background using stamps and dies.

I chicken out, sorry I couldn’t resist !!!, when it comes to the backgrounds in the colouring books??? So decided I’d create an Art Journal using the images I complete from my various colouring books.

The very colourful rooster is from the adult colouring book Colour Me Mindful – Birds by Anastasia Catris, which I fussy cut out.

The rooster is coloured with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils, set of 72.

Thanks for popping by and for leaving a comment, much appreciated.

Have A Hoot ….

Have A Hoot ...., Hobby Art stamps, Pitt Pens, Lyra Art Pens, Rubber Stamping, Cardmaking

Morning all, thanks for popping by 🙂

Sharing a birthday card today, made using Hobby Art stamps.

I started with an A5 sheet of watercolour card, I stamped the largest oak from the Ornate Owls stamp set, using a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. I used the masking technique to create the layered effect with the oak leaf.

Using the Lyra Art Pens I watercoloured the oak leaves, in various autumnal shades.

I stamped the owl, also from the Ornate Owls stamp set, using Versafine Onyx black. I then used a circle die and scrap card to create a mask for the owl before colouring the background in.

For the background I used the Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens, these pens are very juicy and colour beautifully but they can show lines when using certain papers or when colouring large areas. I choose this type of pen, it’s Indian Ink in the Pitt Pens, exactly because I want to see some of the lines, I wanted the background to have a wood/bark texture so when colouring with the Pitt Pens I could create that effect with very little effort, not sure if it’s that obvious in the photo but in real life you can see a grain effect with the yellow background. I also added a little more of the wood/bark effect by stamping with Hobby Art Texture stamps, using an orange Pitt Big Brush Pen to ink up the stamp.

I masked the owl and stamped the splatter effect, from the Texture stamp set. I used various different colours at the same time on the stamp using Pitt Big Brush Pens.

I used the Pitt Pens to colour the owl, I also stamped the head twice on watercolour card and used to decoupage the owl. The greeting was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Little Fairy

Afternoon, back again no blogging for months and look at me this week!!!

Playing about with stencils yesterday and a stamp set from Personal Impressions I’ve not used in a while and she’s sooo cute.

Step by Step

1. Used white linen effect cardstock, 6×6″, for the background. Blended Memento inks in Olive Grove and Tangelo onto the background. Stenciled through using the same inks, the Clock is from Viva Decor and the Circles and Chicken wire are from Clarity Stamps.

2. Stamped the Fairy, stars, bell and verse all from the Little Fairy stamp set, by Personal Impressions, using Versafine Onxy Black.

3. Stamped the Fairy from the same set onto watercolour card and watercoloured using the Lyra Art Pens, set of 50. Added a little wink of Stella gold and clear to the Fairy’s wings. Then fussy cut out the Fairy, without the star, and then adhered to the 6×6″ background where I’d stamped previously, colouring the star in gold Wink of Stella.

4. Used the Tim Holtz Mixed Media die to cut into the right hand corner.

5. Edged the 6×6″ background with black ink and matted onto Kraft cardstock.

6. Using a small piece of the white linen effect cardstock, inked with Memento Tangelo and then stenciled with an Imagination Crafts stencils, using Memento Tangelo and Olive Grove, to create the dots on the background. Die cut the flowers from the cardstock, using  Tattered Lace Claire Trio die.
7. Embellished with Viva Decor Paper Pen, Graphite, to create the flat back pearls in the left hand corner and added Card Candi to the centre of the flowers.
