Stronger Than You Know

Morning, sharing another project made for the Create and Craft Stamps by Me show, shown on Tuesday 1st Nov. If you missed the show, you can catch up online on the Create and Craft website, here.

Step by Step

1. Took a piece of white tissue paper, slightly larger than the 5×7″ canvas board, scrumpled up the tissue paper. Applied a coat of matte Mod Podge to the canvas and stuck down the tissue paper. Applied a coat of matte Mod Podge over the entire canvas.

2. Once the Mod Podge was dry, used a Creative Expressions mini stencil and DecoArt white modelling paste to create additional texture to the background.

3. Once the modelling paste was dry, used Faber Castell Gelatos, in orange, yellow and red shades, to cover the entire canvas. Sealed the FC Gelatos using DecoArt Matte Medium and a sponge.

4. Once the Matte Medium was completely dry, used DecoArt Metallic Lustre Wax to highlight the texture in the background.

5. Using white card stock, stamped the butterflies, from the Stamps By Me Lamination Butterfly stamp set, with Distress inks and black Generation INX.

6. Stamped the foliage, from the Stamps By Me Lamination Foliage stamp set, onto white card stock using Memento inks, in various shades of green, and black Generation INX.

7. Cut out the stamped images and text from the Mixed Up magazine ‘Inspiring Words’ printable, October 2016 issue.

8. Adhered the butterflies using Pinflair 3D glue gel and embellished with Glossy Accents and crystal glitter.

9. Adhered the text using DecoArt Matte Medium. Once the Matte a medium was dry, used a Faber Castell Pitt pen around the edge of the text.

10. Adhered some paper flowers and the foliage using Pinflair 3D glue gel.

Imagination

Morning, sharing an another art journal page today.

Still playing around with the Dylusions paints, they are scrumptious.

Step by Step

Used Dylusion paints in Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime and Calypso Teal with a blending tool, applying in blocks randomly over th entire page.

Used a black Faber Castell Gelato to section off the colour blocks., using my finger to soften and smooth out the line.

Used black Archival ink and stamped the colour blocks, with stamps from Visible Images, Dylusions and a My Craft Studio scroll stamp.

Stencilled areas of the page with White Linen Dylusions paints using an Imagination Crafts stencil.

Cut two tag shapes, one large and one smaller, from white card stock, used Dylusion paints. Using the same colour paints as the journal page, applied with a blending tool.

Stencilled areas of the large tag with Dylusions White Linen paint and an Imagination Crafts stencil. Stamped the large tag with the eye from a Visible Image stamp set using black Archival ink.

Stencilled areas of the small tag with Fresh Lime Dylusions paint using an Imagination Crafts stencil. Used a Creative Expressions stencil with White Linen Dylusions paint to create further interest on the smaller tag.

Used black Archival ink to stamp various textures and images, using stamps from Visible Images & Hobby Art.

Used white card stock to stamp the two sentiments, both Visible Image stamps, cut them out as above.

Doodled around the edge of the individual words using a black Sakura Micron pen.

Stamped around the edge of the other piece of text using black Archival ink, inked the edge with Black Soot Distress ink.

Matted the tags and text onto black card stock, trimmed and punched a hole using a Crop-A-Dile.

Attached the black cord to the tags.

Adhered the tags and text to the page.

It felt a little too dark at this stage, so added some white circles using a Dylusions stencil, White Linen Dylusions paint and a blending tool.

Now the white circles seemed to in your face!! So used a dotty Imagination Crafts stencil and Black Marble Dylusions paint over sections of the page, tags and text.

Finally, used a Derwent Graphik Paint Liner in black around the larger white circles.

My House Mixed Media Canvas

Afternoon, how’s your day been? Had a grotty morning but cheered myself up watching a Pink Panther movie!!

Today’s share is a mixed media canvas using Polkadoodles Little Kingdom stamp set.

I created the background on the canvas board using Faber Castell Gelatos, used stencil and some gesso to create the circles in background. Once the background was completely dry, I added some colour to the circles using FC Gelatos and used a Time Holtz stencil and Archival ink to add the numbers. Emphasised the circles using a brown Gelato. To create more interest and depth to the background used various texture stamps and Archival ink, also used some white gesso with a stencil to add the hexagons. I created the house using stamps from the Polkadoodles Little Kingdom stamp set and black Memento ink, I used Ultimate Graphic paper to stamp out the design and coloured with Copic markers. Fussy cut the house out and adhered to the canvas board using DecorArt Matte Medium. Stamped the tree and flowers directly on the canvas board using Archival ink and stamps from the Little Kingdom stamp set, coloured with Faber Castell Pitt Pens. Sealed the whole canvas using DecoArt Matte Medium, once the Matte Medium was completely dry used FC Pitt Pens to add some shadow and depth around and under the house and tree. Finally used some liquid pearls to add some interest to the tree and the roof.

The Little Kingdom collection, stamp set and digital collection are available at Polkadoodles, click on the piccie below to be taken to the Pokadoodles website.

Paper Butterflies

Evening all, hope you’ve had a good weekend.

Sharing an art journal page, made using a mix of some the new stamps by Leonie Pujol and one of my fav stamps a butterfly from one of my Indigo Blu stamps sets.

Step by Step

1. Gave the art journal page a light coat of DecoArt Matte Medium.

2. Once the matte medium was completely dry, applied FB Gelatos in shades of yellow and mustard to create the base of the background. Sprayed the background lightly with acrylic ink sprays, in pink, yellow & orange. Heat set the background and added interest to the background using texture stamps by Sheena Douglass and Hobbyart stamps, using Archival ink pads.

3. Using a Leonie Pujol stamp set, stamped the solid heart in pink Archival ink, to create the flower. Stamped the stitched heart outline, from the same Leonie Pujol stamp set, in black Archival ink directly over the pink hearts.

4. Stamped the sentiment, from a Leonie Pujol stamp set, using black Versafine ink. Heat set the text with a heat gun.

5. Stamped the butterfly, from an Indigo Blu stamp set, in Versafine ink in various shades of red & orange. Heat set the stamped butterflies.

6. Stamped the text border around the edge of the page, a Leonie Pujol stamp, using a grey Versafine ink. Heat set the text border.

7. Cut a circle to use for the flower center, using Tattered Lace dies, from a scrap of white card stock. Coloured the circle with FC Gelatos, in orange & yellow. Used a crackle stamp, by Indigo Blu, to add some interest to the flower centre using black Archival ink. Adhered using DecoArt Matte Medium to the page. Used FC Big Brush Pitt pens to add some shade around the flower petals.

8. Sealed the whole page with DecoArt Medium using a sponge to dab the whole page, dabbing avoids moving the water based Gelatos around.
