BD-i Tiaramaking February Design Challenge

Been busy, busy, with the February Design Challenge from BD-i Tiaramaking. Struggling with the camera work but didn’t struggle to get inspiration for my jewellery designs from the beautiful beads. I made a jewellery set in silver and red, using the bicones, diamanté rondelle spacers and clear/AB rondelles, all from the pack the only additions are the wire & findings. As I said I’m struggling with the camera work and sadly it doesn’t show the wonderful sparkle from the diamanté rondelle spacers and the clear/AB rondelles, they really do catch the light and twinkle.

My next designs are a ring and a handbag charm, using the red seed beads from the pack plus wire and findings from my stash. The ring is adjustable and quite a simple make but I think it’s an eye catching design, just love, love, love red & gold together 🙂

I’ve a couple more makes to upload, hopefully I’ll have more success with my photos!!!!

Make sure you check out the BD-I Tiaramaking blog for full details of the design challenge and I look forward to seeing your designs.

Lucite flower tiara & haircomb

A few recent makes, I usually use lucite flowers in the twisted vines of a tiara or simple wrapped drops in earring or bracelets but decided to use them in the wrapped band of the tiara and the haircomb for change. The earrings are just simple wrapped loops on jump rings, they really catch the light and move beautifully.

Copper Swirl Earrings

Some simple earrings made using 1mm, 0.8, 0.6 & 0.315mm copper wire with cats eye beads from Beaders Companion and seed beads. The main body of the earrings is made using 1mm, the cats eye beads are wrapped with 0.8mm wire and the shepherds hooks were made using 0.6mm for the body and the little coils made using 0.315mm wire.

Pearl & Crystal Jewellery Set

My latest make a jewellery set comprising of necklace, bracelet & earrings made using 0.6 mm gold pated wire, pale green glass pearls, BD-I crystals, gold plated chain & findings. The main body of the necklace is made from individual wire wrap bead connectors, I actual only forgot once to attach my wire wrap bead to the previous one before closing the wire wrap loop!!! Kept the bracelet and earrings very simple but am pleased with how the set has turned out.
