Digi Choosday – Week 26 – Add Some Bling

Morning, it’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for a new challenge at Digi Choosday.

This weeks challenge is ‘Add some Bling’, I hope you’ve got your sunglasses to hand for my make. Not only have I got the glitter out but it’s quite a bold, colourful art journal page 😎

Step by Step

1. Used Liquitex acrylic paints in various colours to make the base for my background. Heat set the paints using a heat gun.

2. Used various stencils, from Imagination Crafts, Clarity Stamps & Bee Crafty, along with black & white acrylic paints and a sponge to add interest to the background.

3. To add further interest and depth to the background, used stamps, from Tim Holtz & Creative Expressions, with black Versafine ink. Heat set the stamping.

4. Went around the stencilled splodges with a white gel pen, also highlighted the stencilled chevron with a white gel pen.

5. Used a graphics program to size and crop the Polkadoodles Dollie Daydream Kawaii digi stamp, to fit my A4 journal page.

6. Printed onto Ultimate Graphic paper and coloured with Copic markers. Used a Sakura Stardust pen to add some sparkle to the ribbon, hair wraps & scarf. Fussy cut out the coloured image.

7. Using an off cut of paper, painted it with Liquitex yellow acrylic paint. Heat set the paint and stamped a Tim Holtz text stamp with black Versafine ink and used clear embossing powder and heated. Used Sheena Douglass texture stamp around the edge of the text using a black Versafine ink, heat set the ink.

8. Adhered the text and Dollie Daydream image to the journal page, using DecoArt Matte Medium. Used Faber Castell Pitt pens around the edge of the text and Dollie Daydream to add some shadow.

9. Drew three hearts on the page using a white gel pen, used Rangers Glossy Accents to fill the hearts and sprinkled glitter over the Glossy Accents whilst wet.

Dollie Daydream Kawaii is available as an individual digi stamp or you can get her in the full Dollie Daydream Goes East , along with lots of other yummy digi stamps, papers, embellishments and so much more. Click on the piccies below to be taken to the Polkadoodles website.

Digi Choosday – Week 25 – Add a Ribbon

Morning, it’s Tuesday and that means a new challenge at Digi Choosday.

This weeks theme is ‘Add a Ribbon’.

I decided to make a tag, don’t think my love of tags is going anywhere soon lol

Step by Step

1. I selected images from the Polkadoodles Daisydays digital collection in a graphics program, I used My Craft Studio.

2. Sized, duplicated and grouped the pre-coloured Daisy image, to create my focal point for the tag. I duplicated each sizes for the individual flowers twice to use as decoupage. I also selected a sentiment from the Polkadoodles Daisydays collection and sized to fit the design. Once I printed the images out I fussy cut the daisies and sentiment.

3. Cut a tag shape from white linen card stock. Used a Tim Holtz stencil with Creative Expressions Colour Cloud Blending inks to create the background on the tag. Framed the tag with a Smoothie sponge and Colour Cloud Blending ink.

4. Used a black Sakura Micron pen to add the border around the edge of the tag.

5. Shaped the focal image using a bone folder and adhered to the tag with Pinflair 3D glue gel. Decoupage up the daisies using Pinflair 3D glue gel. Used a gold Wink of Stellar brush pen on the centre of the daisies.

6. Coloured the sentiment with Colour Cloud Blending ink and add faux stitching, using a Sakura Micron pen.

7. Punched a hole in the tag using a Crop-a-dile and added some pink ribbon.

The Daisydays collection is available on CD-ROM or as instant download, just click on the piccie to be taken to the Polkadoodles website.

My House Mixed Media Canvas

Afternoon, how’s your day been? Had a grotty morning but cheered myself up watching a Pink Panther movie!!

Today’s share is a mixed media canvas using Polkadoodles Little Kingdom stamp set.

I created the background on the canvas board using Faber Castell Gelatos, used stencil and some gesso to create the circles in background. Once the background was completely dry, I added some colour to the circles using FC Gelatos and used a Time Holtz stencil and Archival ink to add the numbers. Emphasised the circles using a brown Gelato. To create more interest and depth to the background used various texture stamps and Archival ink, also used some white gesso with a stencil to add the hexagons. I created the house using stamps from the Polkadoodles Little Kingdom stamp set and black Memento ink, I used Ultimate Graphic paper to stamp out the design and coloured with Copic markers. Fussy cut the house out and adhered to the canvas board using DecorArt Matte Medium. Stamped the tree and flowers directly on the canvas board using Archival ink and stamps from the Little Kingdom stamp set, coloured with Faber Castell Pitt Pens. Sealed the whole canvas using DecoArt Matte Medium, once the Matte Medium was completely dry used FC Pitt Pens to add some shadow and depth around and under the house and tree. Finally used some liquid pearls to add some interest to the tree and the roof.

The Little Kingdom collection, stamp set and digital collection are available at Polkadoodles, click on the piccie below to be taken to the Pokadoodles website.

Daisy Days & Butterflies

Afternoon, it’s a little hectic here, both daughters are in the middle of exams, A levels and GCSEs.

The time has gone by far to quickly!!!

Anyway, back to crafting, sharing a make using the new Polkadoodles Daisyday stamp set.

Step by Step

1. Cut watercolour card into a square. Stamp the design using a Versafine black ink pad and the Polkadoodles Daisydays stamp set.

2. Once the stamped design is complete dry, use Pebeo Drawing Gum to mask the flowers.

3. Once the masking fluid is dry, spritz the card with water and sprinkle Brusho crystal powers. Continue adding Brushos and water as necessary.

4. Set aside and allow to dry, you need to ensure its completely dry before removing the marking fluid. Take another piece of watercolour card stock and stamp the butterflies using a black Versafine ink pad. Heat set the ink and colour with Inktense pencils, these are are permanent watercolour pencil so once they are activated with water the pigment is permanent. Fussy cut the butterflies.

5. Remove the masking fluid, simply rub gently with a finger. Colour the flowers with the Inktense pencils.

6. Take the card blank, I’ve used an 8×8″ card blank, stamp using black Versafine ink and stamps from Polkadoodles Daisy Days stamp set. Stamping only the area that will remain visible once the focal image is attached.

7. Matt the focal image onto black card stock and adhere to the card blank.

8. Attach the butterflies using Pinflair 3D glue gel.

9. Use Rangers Glossy Accents on the flower centres, sprinkle some clear glitter on the Glossy Accents whilst it’s wet.

10. Add Rangers Glossy Accents to the butterflies.

The Polkadoodles Daisydays collection has both a CD-ROM digital collection and stamp set included, it’s extremely versatile collection  and offers exceptional value for money. Click on the piccie below to be taken to the Polkadoodles website.

Digi Choosday – Week 24 – For A Male

Morning all, hope you’re all doing well.

It’s Tuesday so that means the start of a new challenge at Digi Choosday, this weeks theme is ‘For A Male’.

I decided to use Polkadoodles Work and Play 8 – Feel the Music collection, combining pre-coloured digi images from the collection and a little stencilling and stamping.

I used the pre-coloured guitar and speaker images from the collection but created my own background using inks plus I stamped the greeting.

Step by Step

1. Used a graphics program, My Craft Studio, to size the guitar and speaker images to fit my A5 card blank. I duplicated the guitar image for the top layer of my decoupage. I grouped the other guitar and speaker images together, placing the grouped image in the centre of one half of the A4 screen page, this would be the base of the topper. I duplicated the grouped image for my first layer of decoupage.  Placing the decoupage elements on the other half of the A4 screen page. Printed out the page and trimmed the topper to fit my A5 card blank and fussy cut the decoupage elements.

2. Using a stencil, from Imagination Crafts, and a Creative Expressions Colour Cloud Blending ink & a smoothie, I created the splatter background. I didn’t have to worry about masking off the guitar and speaker because I would be decoupaging the image. Used a Sakura Micron pen around the edge of the splatters.

3. Used the Creative Expressions Colour Cloud Blending ink and smoothie to frame the edge.

4. Heat set the Colour Cloud ink, they are very juicy and will hold embossing powder when wet, and stamped the Birthday Wishes’ greeting, from Clearly Besotted, using a black Versafine ink pad. Used clear embossing powder on the greeting and heat embossed.

5. Used a Sakura Micron pen to create a border around the edge.

6. Matted the topper onto black card stock, adhering the mat onto the card blank using 3D foam pads.

7. Used 3D foam pads to decoupage the first layer, the complete guitar and speaker.

8. Used an clear embossing pen & clear embossing powder on the red sections of the guitar, heat embossed. Repeated the heat embossing twice.

9. Shaped the guitar a little with a bone folder and adhered with Pinflair 3D glue gel.
