Thank God For Tea! Art Journal page

Afternoon, hope you’ve all had an enjoyable weekend!

I’m sharing another Art Journal page, the subject of the page is tea, did you guess??

I lurvvveeee tea, it’s my favourite beverage ๐Ÿ™‚ Ironically, I can’t make a decent cuppa of tea!! Fortunately, my hubby makes the best cuppa every, despite the fact he doesn’t drink tea.

Polkadoodles launched a new collection at the weekend, Winnie Sugar Sprinkles, and when I saw the digi stamp of the tea cups in the collection and just had to make something using them. The tea cups also reminded me of a fabulous quote about tea which just about sums up my tea-aholic nature.

Thanks God For Tea! Art Journal page, Polkadoodles, Winnie Sugar Sprinkles

 Step By Step

1. I gave the page a quick coat of white gesso and once dry I applied Faber Castell Gelatos, in yellow, red & orange.

2. The FC  Gelatos are water based and I wanted to seal them so I applied a coat of Art Deco Matte Medium. I pounced the Matte Medium on with a sponge because, as mentioned before Gelatos are water based, so would dilute and move with the Matte Medium.

3. I used various rubber stamps and stencils on the background to add interest, using Archival inks. I also added a few random dotty sections using a Faber Castell Big Brush Pitt pen in black and white.

4. I also used a heart stencil from Clarity Stamps, with a red FC Big Brush Pitt pen and then emphasized the heart with a black FC Pitt pen, smuding the edges a little.

5. I printed out the digi stamp of the tea cups, from the Winnie Sugar Sprinkles collection, coloured with Copics and fussy cut. To embellish further I used a white FC Big Brush Pitt pen to add the dots to the tea cups.

6. The quote was typed up on my PC, printed out and snipped. I coloured the quote pieces using fluid acrylic ink sprays.

7.  I adhered the tea cups and quote using Art Deco Matte Medium.

8. To make the teacups and quote pop on the page, I used the FC Pitt pens to edge around the images and smudged the ink to soften the edges.

Art Journal – Winnie Sugar Sprinkles

Afternoon, are you having a good weekend? Have you managed to do any crafting?

I’ve been at my craft desk, I’ve made another page for one of Art Journals.

Art journal - Winnie Sugar Sprinkles - Polkadoodles

Step by Step

1. To make the background for my art journal page I used watercolour card, cut to A5. I used my fluid acrylic ink sprays, in yellow, red, purple & orange, and sprayed liberally.

2. I used a variety of stamps, from Hobby Art & Tim Holtz, to add some texture to the background using Archival and Versafine inks.

3. Used Imagination Craft & Tim Holtz stencils to add more interest to the background, using Archival inks and a white Graph-it Shaker pen.

4. The super cute character is a digi stamp from Polkadoodles , as is the text. I printed out character and coloured her with Copic pens.

5. I cut out Winnie and adhered to my page using Art Deco Matte Medium. Using Faber Castell Pitt pens to make Winnie pop on the page, by going around the edge of the cutout.

6. Adhered the text using Art Deco Matte Medium and used FC Pitt pens to coloured the text. I used a Copic Multi Liner pen to add a frame around the text pieces.

7. Added a few paper flowers with flat back pearls to finish the page.

The character and text are from the new release from Polkadoodles, Winnie Sugar Sprinkles.

There’s a jammed packed Winnie Sugar Sprinkles collection available, either as an instant download or on CD-Rom, or if you just want elements from the collection there are individual downloads available too ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank You – Clarity Stamps Groovi

Afternoon, hope you’re all well.

Sharing a Groovi make today, I used elements from the Funki Henna border plate to create the focal point of the card. Rather than using my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils, I though I try out my Promarker pens on the parchment. I created the focal panel and did three individual flowers and after colouring I cut them out and used Pinflair 3D glue gel to add to the panel, embellishing with a few die cut leaves & flourishes. I stamped the ‘Thank You’ using an Archival ink pad and a sentiment from a Clearly Besotted stamp set. I matted the parchment panel onto some pink cardstock using some white brads.

Lily Bug Love – Inky Backgrounds

Afternoon, sharing the last of the samples I made for the launch of the Lily Bug Love collection, from Polkadoodles, on Create and Craft TV, yesterday. If you missed the show you can see it online here, lots of inspiration from Nikky Hall and the Polkadoodles design team.

Step by Step

1. Using a graphics program, I use My Craft Studio, sized the mushrooms, quote and ladybird, from the Lily Bug Love collection, to fit the tag I would be creating.

2. Once printed I coloured the mushrooms and ladybirds with Copics pens, fussy cutting out the elements.

3. Using fluid acrylic ink sprays, I sprayed a piece of watercolour card to create the background.

4. Cut the watercolour card to the tag shaped and edged with blue Memento ink to define the edges.

5. Used a Copic Multi Liner black pen to create the faux stitching around the edge of the tag.

6. Used a Memento ink pads to colour the quote and snipped the individual words.

7. Used Deco Art Matte Medium to adhere the mushrooms, ladybird and quote.

8. Used Graph-it shaker pens, white, silver & gold, to add dots to the tag.

9. Used Faber Castell Pitt Pens around the edges of the mushrooms, ladybird & quote to make them pop a little more. I also grounded the mushrooms using the FC Pitt Pens too.

10. Matted the tag onto black cardstock and trimmed, punching a hole at the top of the tag.

11. Used cream 3D liquid pearls on the mushrooms, to add a little more texture.
