BD-i Tiaramaking March Design Challenge

Well I did tell you I’d been busy with several projects, three posts in one day!!!!

This micro macramé bracelet is my first piece made from the BD-i Tiaramaking Design Challenge bundle for March, I loved the colours in the pack I received. I received the ‘Touch of Teal’ bundle, there are three different colour bundles, the other colour packs are ‘Peaches & Cream’ and ‘Lovely in Lilac’.

You can purchase the challenge bundles here, for the bargain price of just £5. Once you have received you Design Challenge bundle, you can create anything you like using your own findings etc but only the beads from the bundle. Upload a photo of your design to your Facebook page, tagging BD-i, or email your photos directly to BD-i before the closing date and then a winner will be chosen to receive the next challenge bundle for free. You can find full details of the challenge over on BD-i’s blog

Well I’ve more beading to get done, I’ve stacks of beads still to use from the March challenge pack, so no more blogging today the beads are calling!

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s designs 🙂

Micro Macramé Necklaces

I’ve a design in my head that I want to make but it’s going to take me sometime to figure out cord lengths and the best way to knot up the design, so I decided to make smaller pieces to use as a basis on how to figure out parts of the design and the best way of creating the larger design I’ve in mind!!!

This is one of the pieces I’ve made, with my larger design in mind, a small collar style necklace made using 1mm waxed polyester cord and faceted rondelles. The faceted rondelles are from BD-i Tiaramaking and which I received as pack of my February DT pack, they are a strand of multi-colour rondelles which have some beautiful colours in the strand. I was feeling in a monochrome mood when I made this piece so I used some of the clear rondelles.

I was really pleased with the design so I decided to make another!!

This is made with 1mm waxed polyester cord and faceted haematite beads.

Kambaba Jasper Micro Macramé Pendant

I’ve been busy with several projects recently, which I’ll be adding to the blog shortly, and this is one my recent makes. This cabochon was part of my Xmas pressies from my Mum & Dad. I  gave them a long list of goodies I wanted, so they could pick & choose from the list, and even though I knew what I’d put on the list it was still a lovely surprise on Xmas Day because I didn’t know what items had be ordered 🙂

This cab is from Spoilt Rotten Beads, Kambaba Jasper is a stone I’ve not used before and I love it, the patterning and colour is beautiful. I’ve got a lovely Opalite cab waiting to be wrapped but I can’t decide what colour(s) to use, it has a beautiful glow and lots of colour flash, decisions, decisions!!!!

BD-i Tiaramaking – Rondelle cluster hair comb

My latest make, using elements from the BD-i Tiaramaking Design Team pack, these are the multi-colour crystal rondelle strand. I kept the colours and design quite simple, making bead clusters with the rondelles, they really catch the light especially with the added movement the clusters give, along with diamantés from my stash.

Micro Macramé Cuff Style Bracelet

My latest make a micro macramé bracelet, using a white magnesite cabochon as the focal point. I didn’t have a clear design when I started this piece, the only firm idea I had when I started was I wanted to incorporate the leaves. It took a bit longer than normal to knot because my shoulder is still giving me trouble but I got there in the end and I’m pleased with the result.

I’ve got some beautiful goodies from BD-I Tiaramaking to make DT pieces, some really sparkly rondelles. I must stop admiring them and get making lol
